Opening Times:

The Thomas Merton Center is located on the second floor of the W. L. Lyons Brown Library at the center of the Bellarmine University campus. It is open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Click here for a campus map and directions. In exceptional circumstances special arrangements are occasionally possible for groups who wish to visit the Center evenings and on Saturdays. Special arrangements should be requested from the Director of the Center.


Holiday Closures:

The Thomas Merton Center and Bellarmine University are closed on the following dates:

November 27th and 28th - Thanksgiving

December 24th - January 4th 2009 (inclusive) - Christmas

January 19th - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

March 6th - Spring Break

April 10th - Good Friday

May 1st - Kentucky Derby

May 25th - Memorial Day

July 3rd - Independence Day

September 7th - Labor Day

In addition the Thomas Merton Center will be closed from Wednesday 10th June - Monday 15th June (inclusive) for the Eleventh General Meeting of the Thomas Merton Society which is being held at Nazareth College, Rochester, NY.


Accommodation for Visitors:

Limited student residential accommodation is sometimes available on the campus for out-of-town researchers. Further details of this can be obtained from Angela Rone in Special Events. Telephone: (502) 452 8100.
